The FDA is a United States federal government agency that regulates the food and drug industries, and enforces a number of US laws related to food and drug production and sale.  FDA regulations apply to all domestic food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturers, (except those regulated by the USDA).  FDA regulations also apply to any foreign manufacturers in the applicable industries selling product in the US.
