Hi tech / low tech
All electronics, whether pure electronics, or aviation electronics, or automotive electronics, or... is very high tech. The manufacturing lines are full of expensive, computerized machines making wonderful components to very high tolerances. In the lab are an assortment of high tech instruments. But often that is where the technology ends.
Often when addressing quality systems, or scheduling, or manufacturing efficiency, or waster, or equipment maintenance, an MSExcel spreadsheet is as high tech as it gets. Sometimes a notebook (the paper kind!) is where the data is recorded. There are computer systems, but they are more oriented to supply chain or financial areas than manufacturing operations.
